Jim Weale is a Founding Director and Principal Consultant at Scriptoria Sustainable Development Solutions, an international consulting company which provides strategic and delivery-centred services focused on software development, knowledge and data management, communications, and training.

Throughout the 23 years since it was formed, Scriptoria has focused on the needs of international development and research organisations. For the last decade, Jim’s main areas of focus have been on providing strategic design and advisory services to help organisations put in place large data and project management systems for agricultural, water, climate, health, and pest and disease programmes. Notable projects led by Jim include organisational reviews of major donor-funded programmes, the production of various large data management systems (including the replacement of the UNFAO’s Desert Locust pest tracking system), and the production of Scriptoria’s flagship project management and MEL software.
