A continental thrust (NEPAD, 2012)
After writing and designing the English version of this beautiful coffee table book in 2011, 2012 saw Scriptoria’s expert team translate it for the French release. Another company unrelated to Scriptoria had initially provided a French translation, but this was rejected by NEPAD’s CEO. Scriptoria was then called in, and the translation that our ex-UN translator provided was roundly approved by the CEO.
‘NEPAD: A continental thrust’ showcased the New Partnership for Africa’s Development’s (NEPAD’s) work to further African economic development, so the French version had to be of the highest quality in order to impress NEPAD’s many French-speaking stakeholders – and investors. This is just one of many French translations we have produced for NEPAD.
Achieving food security in the face of climate change (CSACC, 2011)
Working to a tight deadline for delivering its findings, the Commission on Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change (CSACC) looked to us for expert writing and editorial skills to strengthen and tailor the report’s overall message. The Commission – led by Sir John Beddington, the UK government’s Chief Scientific Adviser – also needed a very fast turnaround from our large design team.
The report then needed to be translated into French and Spanish. Scriptoria’s combination of expertise and flexibility meant it could deliver a first-rate product in good time against incredibly tight deadlines for COP17.

The Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP, 2008–2011)
In the course of our longstanding relationship with the CAADP programme, we translated a whole range of their publications so that CAADP could communicate their impact to a wider global audience.
Examples include translation and layout of the French versions of both their 2009 Annual Report and their website.

Research Into Use (RIU, 2007–2009)
Scriptoria’s Publications team produced all of this prolific programme’s communications between 2007 and 2009.
As part of this process we translated a host of documents for Spanish and French releases. These included the 150-page RIU Resource Library handbook and various programme briefs and brochures.
